For our school to show more compassion to what is affecting students nationwide. Walkout

THIS IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE VS LIBERAL IDEALS ISSUE, THIS IS FOR ANYONE WHO SHOWS COMPASSION FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE FLORIDA SHOOTING.
On February 14, 2018, the students attending Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School witnessed a tragic event right before their eyes. 17 students were shot by Nikolas Cruz.
Laguna Beach High School initially addressed the issue regarding sympathy and attempt to allow students to utilize their voices as said in our 1st amendment. The first plan was to meet on Short Street to show support for 17 minutes. The school prevented students from freely expressing our compassion by doing so.
The plan changed and our schedule was altered. The "walkout" was not a walkout, but rather a snack-break. Students did not utilize their voice; some students wrote about showing support for the NRA (everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this is showing disrespect to the victims of this shooting).
The FBI could have done something, our government could have done something, our school could have done more.
Enough is enough.
Join myself; Natalia Szeibert and Iris Sewell (Iris had the initial idea), to change our school's perspective to improve the ways our school handles such issues.
Be the change you wish to see in the world, the change starts with you.

Thank you to the students who participated in the small protest on the corner of the school, several students did not know about this mini-protest, but it was definitely a good start.
