Why this petition matters

The rate at which Lagosians are jumping into the lagoon is alarming, last year around December.
A21-year-old man, Odunare Olalekan, has committed suicide by jumping into a lagoon at Epe in the Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State. Last Month yet-to-be-identified man was captured in a viral video jumping into a river in Lagos State after he was reportedly accused of stealing. took his life on Saturday night at the Idumota Bridge, Lagos Island.
Tragedy struck again on Thursday 10th of November, 2022, when a yet-to-be-identified middle-aged lady reportedly jumped into Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge, in an apparent case of suicide.
Sadly, I have at some point think of jumping into the lagoon while passing the walk ways on the iddo-idumota axis.
Lagos Lagoon is now becoming a place for easy death for Lagosians undergoing any form of mental health.
I am calling on the Federal Government, Lagos State Government to build a barricade on Iddo -Idumota ways, and Lagos third mainland bridge to prevent people jumping into the lagoon.
