Novelty Nigeria started this petition to Lagos state government and

Lagos state Government Announced the restriction and ban of commercial motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke) in six local government areas last month with  the law taking effect from February 1st. In respect to that, we have  created a petition against that law.

#RescindtheOkadaandKekeBanNow

This is an organised effort directed towards ensuring that the 'ordinary man' in lagos  state doesn't suffer. We are tired of the Government making laws without providing adequate solutions and alternatives. Considering not just the bad state of roads in the state constantly causing traffic congestion that hinder free movement, about 40 percent of the population in the areas affected rely solely on this transport modes,  and we believe that the Government should be more concerned about easing the Problems of Transportation rather than  adding fuel to the fire.

We want to encourage the government regulate this transport system as they prioritise creating permanent solutions to the transport needs of the good people of lagos state. For a city this populated , Underground Rail transport and Water transport should have been explored and established now, Obviously Buses and cab services cannot do the job. Let the good work of the Government in the state continue,  but without Punishment.

We cant pay inflated Bus fares

We can't keep missing flights

We can't keep missing Appointments

We don't want to get fired, so We cant keep getting to work late

We don't want to be frustrated. We can't walk long distances.
