Mombasa is not developing educationally. According to the Daily Nation (2014) about 35,000 children in Mombasa do not go to school because of many reasons such as Drug and substance misuse, teacher and student absenteeism, insufficient learning resources, and, finally, child labor are all issues that need to be addressed. but the biggest reason is  lack of family income . There are devastating consequences if the issue persists, it will affect Mombasa in the future because there will be underdevelopment because there will barely be any doctors to treat people  and any politicians to lead the country. Other ways that it could affect Mombasa is Poor health, a lack of a voice and a shorter life expectancy. 

Who does this issue affect-This issue affects everyone because children are the next generation of doctors, Leaders, Engineers, etc and without them we wouldn't survive or know what to do because everyone would be sick, it would be chaotic and there would be no development of the country because  for a country to thrive and be successful everybody needs to do their part and take responsibility and without education no one would know how to do their parts.

What parties are involved?-Some parties that can make a difference are the ministry of education of Mombasa because they hold the power of education in Mombasa. The government can also help by reducing taxes so that low income families can afford school fees instead of spending all their money on taxes and their children not going to school.

What is currently being done-Currently the county government with the help of investors are working towards these children schooled through an informational program. The first people chosen for the program were 800 students from 16 different schools. Each school which has a nursery, primary and secondary school will choose a concept to adopt from 6 different categories 

What is your proposed course of action to bring change?- This problem could be solved by financially supporting the poor families, in order to do that we could give them food and some other tools such as a nice place to sleep so that they can have more money for the school fees and so that their children could go to school.

Who would oppose your action plan?-People who think some children shouldn't go to school, for example some people say girls shouldn't go to school, they should stay home and learn to cook, clean, etc in order to learn how to be a housewife, but women can also work and earn money for their families. 

Who should support your action plan and why?-Education is important and that people should be able to learn to become better citizens and to help this country develop more, also so that Mombasa does not stay poor.

In conclusion we need your help to spread awareness about the lack of education. So that Mombasa can be better in the future and that it will develop in the future with the future doctors, politicians and more. We cannot let our future fade because of the clinginess of money.
