The New Zealand Labour Party should launch an investigation into bullying claims made by Hamilton West MP Gaurav Sharma.

Putting aside whether you think the Party and it's Leader (also our Prime Minister) Jacinda Ardern has treated him fairly, is it not reasonable that such claims are investigated?

From what Sharma has revealed to the public through his piece in the NZ Herald and on Facebook, there is reasonable doubt to suggest he does indeed have evidence to support his claims of bullying, it's simply a matter of going over things with his lawyer before revealing more.

What this suggests is that an investigation is 100% necessary to resolve this problem either way. The Party cannot just suspend Sharma; as they now have, and expect the questions of bullying to go away.

Nor is it fair on Sharma to be suspended for making claims the Party refuses to investigate.

Ultimately, I believe an investigation is not only justified but extremely necessary, both for the party and public confidence.

It was only last week the National Party launched an investigation into an MP for alleged actions 20 years ago. It seems only reasonable present day accusations within Parliament are treated with equal need of resolution, and therefore an investigation is the only way to settle this controversy.

So that is why I ask of you to please sign this petition in support of an independent investigation into the bullying claims made my Hamilton West MP Gaurav Sharma.

Please don't refrain from sharing, the more people who sign it the more likely it is to gain media attention and ultimately the Government.
