Expel Progress from the Labour Party

A court recently decided that a Labour member (Mr Jack Halinski-Fitzpatrick) could be expelled from the Labour Party because he also supported another socialist group. The Labour Party Investigations Officer attending the case and representing the party (Mr Benjamin Westerman) stated, in court, that Mr Halinski was ineligible to be a Labour member due to the fact that he also supported another political organisation that wasn’t “an official Labour Group or other unit of the party”. Mr Westerman made it clear that “any support for a political organisation, other than an official Labour group, or unit, renders that member automatically ineligible to be, or remain, a party member”. He goes on to explain that this has been part of the party rules for many years and is “well understood” and that it matters not if the organisation is proscribed or not.
However, this now sets a precedence because it can also be argued that members and supporters of other non-affiliated groups, such as Progress, Labour First and Labour Friends of Israel can also now be expelled from the party.
I've started this petition to call on Labour's National Executive Committee to properly apply the same legal requirements against all its members and immediately expel any members associated with other non-affiliated groups, such as Progress, Labour First and Labour Friends of Israel.
