Please support my effort to reform the policies put into place for the upcoming fall semester. Students living on campus are extremely restricted socially in their own rooms. No non-resident guests are allowed at ALL, as well as resident guests only allowed if from the same building (as extreme as not allowing two parts of a completely connected building not allowed to visit one another.) However, guests are allowed to be brought to most public buildings following protocol but NOT a private dorm following protocol. This is extremely illogical and contradictive, and social deprivation from the extremity of the policy will severely impact though suffering mental illness issues. Also, it will encourage a greater increase in students going out to public places to satisfy their social need, posing a greater risk of contagion. Students will demonstrate greater success when they are allowed to socialize with people close to them in these trying times. If any guest agrees to protocol, no large groups are gathering, and the visit is confined to a private dorm room, there is no reason why this should be restricted. Us students have no say in the situation, and we keep the school going year after year. Please consider signing so our voices are heard!
