In France, only 5% of the clothes collected go to the poorest

Only one terminal out of 30 Red Cross terminals is given to the most disadvantaged, the rest is used to finance the NGO. The clothes are sold for 13 cents a kilo to a manufacturer, and this money is reinvested in the association's shares. On the other hand, 10% of clothes are burned to heat homes; 33% are recycled, and the rest is exported internationally, mainly to Africa but due to the low quality of these clothes, they also end up most of the time in the trash, more precisely in illegal dumps, contaminating beaches and rivers.
