People on the island need reasonable access to court services. It is over $70 for boat tickets and over $100 for hotels to go overtown (to the mainland) for court services. Many things also require more than one visit to accomplish. Court services need to be accessable to the residents and visitors to Catalina. This courthouse is only available once a week as it stands. Please do not remove this access. You should be removing barriors to access, not creating them. Avalon residents already incur additional costs for necessities such as gas and food. Please do not put this additional burden on us. No one could even begin to afford to do jury duty on the mainland with boat tickets, vehicle rental, hotels, and lets not forget that most people here work more than one job to make ends meet.
