Hello everyone,

In the last few years, Glen Haven Park in La Canada has been threatened by many people who would like to play pickleball. This park has been a spot where people of all ages come to relax and play tennis. This neighborhood struggles with parking, loud sounds, and vandalism. 

We know that putting a sport like pickleball will disturb the residents that live around the park, one resident lives as close as ten yards to the tennis courts. Parking as it is is troublesome as many people who want to play tennis have a hard time parking already. Pickleball will drive up the sound as the sound of pickleball is loud much like loud popcorn popping at the time of the ball being hit. Furthermore, the traffic and increase of people will affect the occupants surrounding this park, not only in their daily lives but also with the values of their properties decreasing as it would be too much of a disturbance for someone to want to buy property in a place that would be deemed disturbing.

Thank you for taking your time to read this petition and urge you to do a little research on your own. Google search "pickle ball sound" and see the number of complaints that show up remembering that many of these places have their residents living further away from the pickleball than the residents of Glen Haven Park to the courts. Look at the numerous videos and see how it is costing taxpayers to resolve issues created by this game. We are not against this game, however, we know that there are more appropriate places to set up this game in our city as discussed previously at the city hall.
