I received an email response from L'Oreal
Dec 14, 2011 — Oh my gosh I finally got a reply email from an actual L'Oreal team member named Benedict Hopper in regards to our petition. He basically said that L'Oreal does support the aim to eliminate animal testing and that they havnt tested FINISHED cosmetic products for at least 20 years. This is great and all but that does not mean that they have stopped testing completely. They have only just begun alternative ways of testing on animals, by using Skin models (tissue engineering) They did not give me a direct response on if they they plan on not testing on animals anymore, but this is a good step in the right direction of getting the truth out. I did send him a reply asking if L'Oreal would like to make a statement in regards to our petition and I also asked them to clarify if they are stating that they do not test on animals anymore or if they at least plan on being cruelty free before 2013 as we requested. I will update you all and let you know as soon as I hear from them. Thank you all!
