Jordan Lamoureux started this petition to L'assemblee nationale de france

A bill was just passed through the Senate of France today that would prohibit Muslim women under 18 from wearing their hijabs in public places. This infringes on religious freedom, that, although not formally protected, should be. Preventing these young women from wearing their religious garments in any public place is a horrible infringement on their rights.

This bill has not become law because the National Assembly of France has not voted upon it yet. The reports on the bill are few and so the best way to help at this stage is to raise awareness and show L'assemblee nationale de france that this bill cannot be made into law.

This may not seem like a big deal to many Americans, but we must do what we can to improve this world, and if that means signing this petition to stop further oppression of a group of people, please do so.

Help me to raise awareness.
