Cancel L'Anse Creuse Midterm Finals

Cancel L'Anse Creuse Midterm Finals
Why this petition matters
L'Anse Creuse has just announced they will still be having midterm final exams. Despite the continuous struggle for students to keep grades up with the difficult schedule and the virtual flip flops. In addition to most teachers cramming lesson after lesson, being more concerned about the quantity of content being taught rather than the quality, due to the lack of given time.
Finals are difficult as it is, that's obvious, and of course as students we would find an excuse to get them canceled. This, however, is a very different situation. Set aside from the usual struggles of school, we were virtual schooling for almost 2 months. It's very difficult to learn and keep the information taught, but we still did our best to keep our grades up. Still, people's grades hardly budged in a good way. Let's be honest, these finals are not going to help many people's grades.
We as students know we sound lazy and just don't want to take another test, but we feel unheard by the district, they do not know the struggle this year has been to keep up. As adults it is very hard for them to understand the struggles of teens. While we are expected to be able to manage our academic life, a mid term exam is not a high priority in our minds. It's hard enough as it is trying to absorb current lessons, but to spit back out everything from the past few difficult months is not worth the stress and struggle that is needed to do well.
In addition some students and teachers personal lives have become more stressful due to being semi-isolated for long periods of time to try to stay safe along with the possibility of family being directly affected by COVID. The purpose of the cancelation of these tests is not to hinder our learning. It's also not an excuse for students to be lazy. Rather a way to lift
some weight off of students backs and not feel like they are being set up to fail. A chance to focus on what they're given now and get through this difficult year rather than dig up old content that was hard to learn the first time. Please sign this petition. L'Anse Creuse, please take your student's voices into account. Thank you.
