Bring HB5135 establishing "Recognize Vietnam Veterans Day" in Michigan to a public hearing

HB 5135 would establish March 29 of each year as "Recognize Vietnam Veterans Day" in Michigan. March 29, 1973, was the day the last American troops left South Vietnam and the day the final POW returned to American soil, ending nearly a decade of American military intervention in that country. If passed into law, this would recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the American troops who served in Vietnam. The bill has been assigned to a committee and the next step on its path to law is a public hearing. I urge the committee to schedule a public hearing to allow the citizens of Michigan to express their views on this law which would recognize the contributions and sacrifices of American troops who served in Vietnam.
