Since the closing of Highway 81 at the Panther Creek Bridge in August,  KYTC District 2 has detoured traffic to & from Owensboro onto  Kentucky 554. This road is not designed for a heavy traffic load.  At the intersection of 554 and Todd Bridge Road multiple accidents occur weekly. 

With the holidays quickly approaching traffic is bound to increase.

The problem:  due to the grade of Todd Bridge Road coupled with the fact that the north & and south intersections do no align,  lights from southbound traffic shine directly into the face of drivers stopped at the northbound stop sign. The view east and west from both stop signs on Todd Bridge road is partially obstructed (dependent on the height of your vehicle & exact stopping point).  These issues have create the perfect formula the multiple accidents occurring weekly. 

It is the responsibility of KYTC District 2 to address this danger. We are asking KYTC District 2 act IMMEDIATELY to install temporary traffic signals at that intersection in order to create a safer traffic flow.
