Hurricane Irma is closing in on Florida, and it's predicted to hit the Tampa Bay area. Students and Families need time to prepare for this Category 5 hurricane. Teachers and staff need time to prepare/evacuate as well. Imagine if somebody died because Pasco County Schools decided to have one more day of school.

Here are some Tweets to support my point.

"Have you seen the roads lately Mr. Browning? With all the people getting supplies and evacuating the traffic is worse then usual. And now your students are expected to drive in the unsafe road conditions just for one day of class? Seems like a rash and unsafe decision." @Ella13924837

"Don't ignore evacuation orders." Governor Rick Scott

"SERIOUSLY there is no point in going because most people are trying prepare some people are leaving state and if they leave they lose class." @AshtonT62312367

"Y'all gave an excused absence for a eclipse , but not a ------- Cat 5 Hurricane!?" @Anonymous
