Keep Sarah Pollock (and journalism) at Mills College

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Mills College Board of Trustees will vote June 26 whether to cut 11 faculty members. Among those is Journalism Department Head Sarah Pollock. Sarah has taught at Mills for the past 30 years and is one of the most dedicated professors I have had the pleasure to know. Sarah is not only dedicated to her students but also her craft. Previously a senior editor at Mother Jones and Features Editor at the Oakland Tribune, Sarah has taught her students how to pitch stories and get jobs in their field, whether it be journalism or not.

By firing Sarah from Mills, the college could lose not only prospective students but also current ones who are there for Sarah's top notch program.

The board of trustees meets on June 26. Id like to share with them not only how many people are behind Sarah but also the journalism program at Mills. If inclined, please share when you attended Mills and any stories or pertinent information to your signature, such as whether Sarah has helped you get a job or pitch a story. We want to show the board that Sarah has helped so many young journalists begin their career.

Thank you for your time.
