We, the undersigned do hereby request that the Province of New Brunswick, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure install Wildlife Fencing on the Route 10 Highway from Minto, NB to Noonan, NB.  From approximately Civic # 1484, Route 10 Highway (Noonan) to Civic # 4244 Route 10 Highway (New Zion) which covers the most largely wildlife populated and dangerous section of highway.  This particular stretch of highway has 3 designated meadow areas (Grand Lake Meadow), located on both sides of the highway, of which the wildlife migrate.  This section of Route 10 Highway is traveled regularly by many residents of Minto, Chipman and surrounding areas who commute to Fredericton for work purposes.  There have been a many accidents, some fatal over the years due to moose and deer.

In April 2010, a Department of Transportation and Infrastructure press release indicated the following:  "The Provincial Government surpasses 300-km wildlife fencing commitment".   This was in various highways throughout the province.  It further states "there is an average of 340 motor vehicle collisions with moose each year"; and I suspect a good percentage of them to be on the Route 10 Highway between Minto and Noonan. I feel it is time to take steps to protect our citizens of the Minto, Chipman and Grand Lake areas, and all those travelling this highway, and request that the Province take action and install Wildlife Fencing on this portion of Route 10 Highway, to make it safer to travel.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION INDICATING YOUR SUPPORT IN REQUESTING THAT THE PROVINCE INSTALL WILDLIFE FENCING ON THIS SECTION OF HIGHWAY.  THANK YOU!
