The "Fish Hut" sweepstakes/ Video Gambling Establishment located at 3500 South Main Street in Winston Salem has endangered lives and property in the surrounding neighborhood.

With years of generalized illicit activity dragging on our property values and neighborhood pride, this business has recently two brought incidents of  violent activity to our neighborhood:

• 4.23.2022 Robbery, Shooting and Murder. Involving customers immediately leaving the establishment.
• 6.29.2022 Burglary and Shooting on the 3500 S. Main Street Premises.

Despite our regard for small business and small-business owners that serve the community, this business has contributed to loss of life and damage to  property and does not offer goods or services that contribute to our neighborhood's well-being.

We call upon Winston-Salem City Council to Declare this Establishment a Public Nuisance to help ensure basic human safety for our hard-working, tax-paying, diverse, and socially-committed neighborhood.
