The Issue
With an increase of card reception rates, it will be possible for Kongregate to revitalize a once popular game and further increase revenue through purchased cards. As it is now, the 3% drop rate (after the first 10 cards) dissways ANY new players from playing the game. Hence, no cards will be purchased due to nearly instant alienation. Due to current card reception rates, available games are infrequent, furthering the alienation of new players. This lack of available games and new players causes veteran players to also lose interest in the game, further decreasing potential revenue from purchased cards.
With a simple game update for card reception rates to 25%, Kongai will experience a boom in popularity and drastically increased revenue through card purchases. Assuming a typical 3-card game lasts 15 minutes, a new player with a PERFECT WIN RECORD would have to commit to AT LEAST 80 HOURS of gameplay to win all of the cards. This figure does not even put into consideration the potential for duplicate cards! I am not a statitician, but that would significatly increase the required gameplay to achieve a full deck of unique cards.
Considering the required amount of gameplay under the suggested update, it is reasonable to assume that more cards will be purchased through the Kreds system. With a spot on featured games, new players will pour into Kongai and a drastic increase in the game's revenue is assured. Additionally, allowing players to even purchase duplicates of cards, particularly item cards, will further increase revenue potential.
