I'm signing with the intent to foster creativity and preservation of original intent and vision.
I'm sick of seeing games censored for western markets after discovering how much I love the original, and it's getting worse and worse as time goes on. Localization should be strict on translation and what comes with that. The only reason a games *content* should be altered should be for legal reasons.
Lately this issue has gotten so bad that companies such as Koei Tecmo isn't even going to release certain games (Eg: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3) for the Western market, *despite* English translations already existing at the time of launch.
As a Western gamer, all I ask is for the original games to be preserved in a form that I can enjoy them. Without censorship, without alteration and with the original intended vision as in tact as it was with the original release.

I'm signing because I want to play the games as created by the authors, not a concept modified for western tastes. Half of the appeal of playing foreign games is seeing how they compare artistically and thematically in comparison to games made for westerners.

We need to foster creativity, not make it "unoffesive"

I'm signing this because I grew up with Japanese gaming and find it to be the most fun I have in video games. Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, and so on were what made me who I am. And hearing that Japanese developers are afraid of us because of what the Western gaming community has become? It breaks my heart. They feel like they can't even localize games to us, as is the case with Koei Tecmo and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. Gaming shouldn't be a media based on catering to the needs of the minority, as most people clamoring for censorship and whatnot are the people who barely play video games or don't play them at all. I want these games to remain as they are so they can be enjoyed everywhere. Japanese companies shouldn't have to change things just so the West will be happy. Like the whole Nintendo and gay couples crap that happened some time ago. Nintendo isn't putting gay romance options in the new Fire Emblem because they want to, but because we pressured them to. They didn't promise gay couples in Tomodachi Life if they make a new one because they want to, but because we attacked them into doing so. Nintendo shouldn't have to feel forced into putting gay couples in their games, they should do it because they want to.
As a gamer, I don't want to see the market where I get most pf my games from be harassed and bullied to the point that they're afraid of giving the West their games. We love their games and don't want them changed. Japanese developers should be free to make the games they want without worry of making these few specific people happy, them being able to make their games will do enough for me.

I'm not afraid of ideas and products from different cultures. I don't need them changed to suit some puritans who don't even play games.

Video games are art. Censoring art is wrong. Censoring art because of cultural differences is worse

I have been into Japanese entertainment since the days of DBZ and Sailor Moon's first dubs. I spent a lot of my younger days arguing and fighting to see things as close to the created intent as intended, fighting moralists that ran from the idea of cartoons having blood, nudity, gay characters, or in Card Captor Sakura's case, a girl hero. I always loved Asian companies saw the medium as a muedium allowed to be anything from overtly family friendly, to downright perverse, and everything in between.

Today we face new moralists trying to push back, trying to foster their limited American values on you and others because, where parents groups had been wrong 20 years ago, they see themselves as right. Instead of accepting a more international market, they want to make sure that their borders are up to protect them from anything offensive. It hurts hte medium, it hurts your business, and it hurts our ability to grow beyond our cultures by looking at others so as to say, "they're okay with it, why aren't we?"

I call for these publishers to self-publish these games with no zone restrictions and little localization save for translation of the subtitles. Just bypass these so-called 'gatekeepers' and give the SJWs the bird.

I'm signing this because I'm tired of morons in western countries getting their panties in a knot over what is ultimately harmless if you think about it in the long run. I consider videogames as an art form and art, when not given meaning by the artist and/or the viewer, is purely subjective. I'm both infuriated and saddened that Japanese devs are now afraid of releasing their games- their ART- outside of their own region because of this stupidity perpetuated by absolute morons who don't know when to simply call an eggplant an eggplant and call it a day. There are always going to be idiots in western society who will say stuff like "OMG SO TRIGGEREDDD!!!!!!11" and start a shitstorm over nothing. Please don't be afraid. Please don't let the bullies beat you down. We love your games and we love playing them. You are an example to the entire industry, one of the leading nations, in fact! Please hear us out. Please understand.

As a fan of Japanese games who has been burned multiple times by poor quality localisations, altered content, removed content and other decisions made seemingly at the behest of the localisers in America, rather than the original developers; I stand behind any initiative to highlight and hopefully stop these things from happening in the future.
