Knox county’s mask mandate has expired. Large sports gatherings, restaurants, stores etc do not require masks. Our children, however, have been the topic of discussion since school started in August. Mandating masks for children is hypocrisy and not needed. There are conflicting studies to prove whatever side of the fence you fall, but in the end it is wrong to mandate. There is NOT a mask mandate in Knox County which should mean the freedom to be mask free in our classrooms as well. Each person has the right to do what makes them feel safe, and if that is a mask for your child, that is ok! But those of us who are against them have the same right to not enforce on our children. The anxiety it has caused in many students, the decrease in their own natural immunity, the constant fear and depression….it’s enough! Speak up. Please sign to show that the MAJORITY of our Knox county parents are AGAINST a mask mandate!
