Victoria Kerr started this petition to Knowsley Council

The detrimental effects covid has had and is having on residents in care homes and their familys is extremely distressing. The government let our care homes down and now I fear the local councils are doing the same by only allowing one member per family to visit once a week. Forbidding other family members from visiting their loved ones has no positive outcome. We dont know if or when covid will disappear I read somewhere that quality of life outweighs the risk and its stuck with me.

My family are heartbroken as the council are prohibiting us from seeing our grandmother who is in a care home, she has dementia and is missing her family so very much. She is 91 years of age and time is precious to us.

If pubs and restaurants can re-open I cannot get my head around why the elderly that have done so much for this country are being forced to go on without their families. This cannot go on much longer.

I dont know how far I will get with this or if i will get anywhere at all, but the support from my freinds and family will be appreciated more than you would ever know. Please spread the word as I know that there will be thousands of families in our position wanting answers, missing their loved ones dearly and maybe together we can push towards familys being reunited.
