John Young Parkway in South Kissimmee is constantly a parking lot. Short distances take an hour or more to travel due to the number of stoplights and heavy car traffic. More neighborhoods are also being constructed in the area, which will only worsen the problem. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has a proposed solution which includes widening part of John Young to 3 traffic lanes and incorporating a flyover to the Orange Blossom Trail intersection. However, the target design date is 5/2026 and the project is not funded. 

Let’s get together to make this a priority for Osceola, Kissimmee, and the FDOT. It will make daily commutes more bearable and make our area more attractive to tourists and residents alike.
