As this junction is excluded from the current Cooper Bridge proposals, it requires a separate project to be raised and funded by our local authority. Problems are as follows;

From Stocks Bank Road entering A62, the lanes are too narrow. Should a wide vehicle be turning right, when the left filter is at green, traffic cannot progress.

At peak times, residents from Bishops Way, Bracken Close & Coppin Hall Lane cannot join traffic flow.

From A62 in direction of Leeds, right turning large vehicles (buses) struggle with the acute angle of the turn. Additionally, should the Stocks Bank Road right turn lane be full, buses cannot pass by, causing further delays.

From A62 Leeds in direction of Huddersfield, traffic cannot turn left onto Huddersfield Road, hence they turn left onto Stocks Bank Lane, adding to the weight of traffic on the A62 from Leeds.

I propose making use of the adjacent land bordering "The Flightstore" to widen the junction and ensure good traffic flow for both left turning and right turning road users. Also propose to move the existing island down in the direction of Huddersfield, thus enabling a less acute angle for right turning large vehicles approaching from A62 to Stocks Bank Lane.
