By signing this petition, I am urging Councilmembers of the City of Kirkland to install a connected sidewalk on 19th Ave from Market St to just east of 3rd St in Norkirk. This is a direct road to Kirkland Middle School and Peter Kirk Elementary frequented by school-age children; there are long stretches on this street without any sidewalks.  In many places, there is a very narrow shoulder causing people to walk in the road. Community members have favored this project through the Norkirk Neighborhood Association, the Safer Routes to School Program, and the Neighborhood Safety Program.
