Our band has always been the heart of Kingstree! For the band to not have a season this year is unfair! Band is the MOST underrated sport, some don’t even consider it as such. We have students who are going to college for band, and they’re depending on a band season to be able to improve their skills to get look at by colleges. Football & Cheerleading are not the only sports that colleges are interested in, nor are they the only ones that give scholarships. Some band members actually are trying to get a scholarship for band because Of personal issues. Without a band it feels like our home is being stripped away from us. Some may argue that there shouldn’t be a band due to COVID-19 . However, if that is to be valid - other sports should reconvene at a later time. Band does not require physical contact, unlike the sports that are being defended by countless people.

In summary, Band should have a season too because it’s our home! It’s our passion which benefits us in number of ways - college and scholarships being only the tip of the iceberg!
