Many people Feel that 7-12 Grade kids need in person teaching as well. Other Districts were able to make everyone fit and so should Kingston. From Personal Experience online schooling did not benefit or help my child in any way. According to my child’s friends they miss seeing each other every day. Also, according to my child, they miss the 1 on 1 so much with its teacher. I believe that children need the in-school experience to get work done instead of procrastinating all day playing on their phone. the 7th to 12th graders is children and not adults for the KCSD to be expecting so much from them. We need to look at what other countries and states are doing and maybe we can take inspiration and re-do the plan that way. this is NOT hybrid learning; this is cruelty to all the kids that do not have the opportunity to go back to school. In my weekly parenting group, they have told me how their child’s have become more depressed with online schooling and being around their parents and siblings all day whatsoever. With that being said The Kingston City School District MUST fully reopen this September.
