For those of you that did not know Ms. Paternostro, she was one of our most valued guidance counselors at Kings Park High School. As a KPHS alumni that had her as my guidance counselor for 4 years, as well as my four siblings, I can say that she has touched my life and many lives throughout her years of work there. She was the definition of a caring and nurturing individual, and wanted nothing but the best for the students at Kings Park. Moreover, she was a loving mother, daughter, friend, caretaker, etc. She treated every student as if they were her own family. To our students, she was a support system, a shoulder to cry on, and more.

During this difficult time for her family and the community, I feel the best way to thank and honor Ms. Paternostro is through memorializing all the work she did for us by re-naming the Kings Park High School Guidance Office to "The Jen Paternostro Guidance Center". Ms. Paternostro was the definition of what a guidance counselor should be: reliable, caring, supportive, etc. I feel by renaming the office in her honor will not only spark hope in the lives of our students and community, but it will also set a reminder to all who walk through our doors that only the best spend their time here, striving to help our students become the best version of themselves, which was her ultimate goal working with each student.

If you believe that Ms. Paternostro deserves to be memorialized by re-naming the office "The Jen Paternostro Guidance Center" please sign this petition. I am also calling on Dr. Lessler, Kings Park Highs Schools principle, as well as the Superintendents and anyone that can make this happen for our community. Thank you and rest in peace Jennifer Paternostro <3
