Bahrain: Free Nabeel Rajab

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

Nabeel Rajab is a human rights activist and president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights. On June 13, 2016, he was arrested and on June 26 charged with "spreading false rumors in time of war" and "insulting public authorities". These charges stemmed from comments posted on his Twitter account and retweeted in March 2015 relating to the war in Yemen and to allegations of torture in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison. On February 21, 2018, Nabeel Rajab was sentenced to five years in prison for these simple tweets.

Nabeel Rajab is a prisoner of conscience, imprisoned solely for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression. We respectfully request that Bahrain exhibit its support for human rights and release Nabeel Rajab immediately and unconditionally.
