Dr Joe was employed on a contract of employment to lead aproject to establish and manage a training institute in Bahrain for new entrants into the Advertising and marketing industry sector. In 2001 the businessmen behind the project withdrew funding and Dr Joe had tofile a case in the civil court to obtain umpaid salaries and benefits. The judgeruled in his favour against his employers sixteen years ago but they still have not paid up and are being protected by a member of the Bahrain Royal Family. In the meantime he has had a work ban imposed as well as a travel ban even though he is the innocent party He is now destitute and living on food donations by citizens and residents. He has not been able to visit his family for more than seven years. He could not even attend his parents funerals.
