At a time when our government is rolling back on its commitments to Net Zero and granting licences for oil and gas exploration willy-nilly, Liz Truss has "advised" our King, who has been at the forefront of the environmental issues for decades, not to attend Cop27. I believe he should. He has a true understanding of what's at stake (unlike our politicians) and he should be a voice for us all.

With his deep and passionate knowledge and global respect, the presence of the King can hope to turn the dial when it comes to ratcheting up our response to climate change. If he doesn't go, it means the UK loses any integrity it held in this space and our nation is sorely let down.

Let's get our King to Cop27 - he is a leader of integrity who commands a global stage. Our current leaders in Number 10 are not fit for this purpose.
