Iowa's 'return to learn' plan is an unsafe option for children going back to school this fall. Lesson plans can be adapted to be online, just as they did this past spring. Having many past teachers I've remained friends with, as well as working with students through volunteer coaching, it would be a shame to lose any one of these people to an easily preventable disease. The fact of the matter is, schools won't be safe until a vaccine is discovered.
