Legalization of marijuana both recreationally and medicinally would allow many Iowa residents relief. Relief from ailments from pain and many others. It would allow the State of Iowa to tax marijuana sales and create a steady flow of money. Money that could go to improving the life of you and your community and the rest of the state. We can see other states that have legalized see a sudden increase in tax revenue from sales alone. Legalization would help curve the amount of opiates in the state. I know I would rather smoke marijuana then do another drug, be it from the doctor or not. Legalization would allow us Iowans to stray away from pharmaceuticals that pose more of a threat to our health than marijuana does. It would take your kids or parents out of the overpopulated prison system and save money in that sector. This would allow our men and woman in blue focus more on the crimes that are actually needing to be focused on but may not due to marijuana. Legalization has many benefits as does it have some cons of course as any. As many other states begin to make this change, I believe Iowa is due for a change. With your signature you can help make this change.
