A Sioux Rapids Iowa Police Chief wrote on a KCCI Facebook post of a truck driver going through protesters in Des Moines.

"Hit the gas and hang on over the road bumps."

Because Porter chose to apologize for his comment he will be suspended for just two weeks without pay. At which point he will then return to his position as police chief.

During this unprecedented time of police brutality I do not see how anyone saw it fit that only 14 days be enough of a punishment for a POLICE CHIEF to be punished.

Our officers look up to our chief for guidance. Our citizens look up to him for protection. How can either do that with his point of view being it ok to run down protesters with motor vehicles. 

Please help me in starting a movement!! WE WILL NOT STAND FOR OUR OFFICERS OF LAW seeing us as targets anymore!!! We deserve the protection they swore to give us!!
