Sean Slater started this petition to Kim Lemaux

This a petition to UTA, the UTA PD, and police chief to clean up the bicycle racks around campus.

Here are the main reasons for doing so:

1) Easier to park bicycles. Bicyclists on campus shouldn't have to shove their bicycles between 20 other non-used and neglected frames.

2) More space to park bicycles. Bicyclists no longer need to attach their bicycles to posts, trees, fences, etc. due to lack of room at a nearby location.

3) Makes UTA look more beautiful. Overall UTA is a very nice looking and well kept campus. Seeing well kept bushes, fields, and buildings is usually detracted from due to seeing mangled, rusty, neglected bicycles.

4) Can donate the extra bicycles to charity!

Suggested method:

1) Announce change and effective date / deadline.

2) Remove and detain a bicycle if it has: flat tires, missing wheels, missing handlebars, missing seat, missing chain, rusted chain, etc. (items that make the bicycle inoperable, therefore neglected)

3) Grab serial numbers from bicycles, notify owners via the PD's database.

4) They have two weeks to contact the PD to regain their bicycle.

5) Donate any decent bicycles to charity!
