End "Carnival Food," at Haunted Happenings and bring in local vendors!

Every October, Salem's Haunted Happenings brings thousands of people to our city. During this busy time, the city contracts with Fiesta Shows as the exclusive vendor for food booths. The offerings are expensive and low quality "carnival food," like fried dough and cotton candy. Not only is the food of poor qualityou and limited options, but the proceeds from these sales aren't kept in Salem, as Fiesta is based out of New Hampshire. We are asking that the city and the mayor end the practice of contracting out to Fiesta Shows and focus instead on giving priority to local Salem vendors and restaurants. This will give people more, and healthier options during Haunted Happenings, as well as keep any proceeds within the city, where they can help boost the economy.
