I come from a family of persons who have served in all three services, some their whole working lives. Parents, cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents and many many many ancestors whose lives were lived in service in the UK.
These things, properly indicating their entire service history and in particular of those killed in war like or non war like situations is absolutely essential to fully telling the story of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of their nation, otherwise it is an important story left untold and uncelebrated in the awarded medals they have received, or their families have received for their service.

My uncle was killed in World War II. Australia lags well behind other countries like Canada and New Zealand in giving proper recognition.

For obvious reasons. More is required to assist those who have given much.

I believe there should be recognition on campaign medals for these sacrifices. My great uncle was killed at the Battle of El Alamein and we would appreciate this type of recognition.
