- The community is concerned of the possible tenure of the current Kingston Athletic Director. We are angered by the current state of our athletics. Over the last four years, this AD has destroyed many relationships that need to be fostered for a successful athletics program. These relationships include ones with the coaches, student-athletes, support staff, the KCSD community, and with Section IX. His lack of communication and planning has had a negative impact on our programs across the board, and it has become an embarrassment. To the public, it appears that there are no ties, no investment, and no interest in our students or athletics. As the current AD is coming to the close of his 4th year in Kingston, it is clear that he has not made a solid investment in our community. He has created a hostile environment revolving around mistrust within our athletic department. This is harming student-athletes. Kingston has traditionally been a powerhouse of a variety of sports as personally witnessed over the last 40 years. Our esteemed coaches are walking away because they do not want to coach under him. Leadership needs to be solid from the top down. Coaches need to be supported by their AD, as they are the ones supporting our youth in ways beyond the competition. They need to trust that the "behind the scenes" are working properly. The logistics of having places to practice, transportation, and schedules need to be arranged in advance and COMMUNICATED to all parties. These components for a strong athletic program have faltered under the current administration and WE highly recommend a change for the future of our children.
The community calls for the current AD to not receive tenure.
