THE STUDENT BODY started this petition to KGS Administration and

Dear respected administrations of;

Karachi Grammar School, The Lyceum, Cedar College and Nixor College.

In light of this years catastrophic epidemic, we have no choice but to resort to online learning. We appreciate the efforts of the administrations trying to help make the transition as smooth and as easy as possible. However, throughout the past three weeks, Karachi has experienced extreme monsoon rains that have clearly resulted in power outages and connectivity issue’s.

According to all weather forecasts, Karachi is likely to receive more heavy rains throughout the next 7 days. Rain categorises as an uncontrollable factor, power and connectivity become the victims. Using mobile data for 1 day, costs approximately Rs. 3000 for online video-call classes. This petition calls upon the administration for flexibility as well as fairness.

On any day in which heavy rains occur after 7pm, students absences should not be accounted for and an email of excuse highlighting the issue should act as a pardon.
All teachers should have the option to provide school with their school time mobile data costs during rainy days, resulting in those teachers being fully compensated by the school to ensure their income does not become collateral damage due to uncontrollable factors.

Our power is in numbers, and as a colossal and inter-united student body we request all administrations to exercise sympathy and understanding in these times. We hope our thoughts, concerns and worries have been expressed clearly. We hope this finds you well and we hope necessary and kindhearted action.

Kind regards,
The Student Body
