With thanks to Paul Hutcheon, the Investigations Editor for the Herald Scotland, I stumbled upon this interesting story. Having looked a bit deeper into the story, it's revealed that Councillor Frank McAveety has known about this story for some time, relating to Councillor Alistair Watson and Maureen Burke, in regards to the bullying of a Glasgow-based charity.

Labour councillor's seem to think it's okay to bully charities, do nothing to help them and focus only on how many votes they can get. Although the story has been brought up before, it was quickly brushed under the carpet and forgotten about. Now it's time to remind the public of what happened, and the politicians too. They thought they got away with it. Well guess again! Now lets see the Labour party take some action and suspend both Alistair Watson and Maureen Burke, and expel Frank McAveety.

"LABOUR's local election campaign in Glasgow is in crisis after a leaked recording plunged one of the party's top councillors into a cronyism row.

Alistair Watson, who is council leader Frank McAveety's enforcer in the city chambers, tried to interfere in a charity over a change in the working hours of another Labour councillor.

In the secret recording, Watson told a top figure at the Dalmarnock Legacy Hub that Labour had a "knife edge" majority and wanted to know if his party colleague's “work-life” balance could be addressed.

He also said he had spoken to a council official about an internal audit into the charity in order to “expedite” the release of grant money that had been withheld. He added that elected members advocate on behalf of organisations they are close to, or are employed by, “99.9 per cent” of the time."

"A £3.5 Million Commonwealth Games legacy project is embroiled in nepotism claims over a string of posts occupied by a local Labour councillor’s friends and family.

The project was overseen from the beginning by the People’s Development Trust (PDT), a charity that runs the Hub and which hired Kucuk as the £35,000-a-year regeneration manager. Another Labour councillor, Maureen Burke, also declares a paid job at the Trust."
