Re-open Phoenicia Branch of Key Bank

On Monday, February 16th, the beloved Phoenicia branch of Key Bank caught fire. (See HERE.) Thankfully, several firehouses, working in severe cold, brought the blaze under control, saving the building. But rather than pledge to repair and re-open, Key is considering closing the branch permanently. THIS CANNOT HAPPEN.
Closing this branch would be a devastating loss to a very large geographical region from southern Greene, northern Ulster and eastern Delaware County. The staff at Phoenicia Key is a major part of this vibrant community; because of these employees, the bank often resembles a community center, with citizens catching up, giving advice, commiserating, and laughing, all while banking. The staffers go out of their way to be extra-helpful, offering an experience both old-fashioned and cutting edge. When the town endured floods (Irene hit us hard) and previous fires, they weathered it all with smiles, and helped everyone get back on their feet. They contributed to the rebuild of our library after it burned in 2011, and they routinely give back to the community.
The next closest Key bank is 35 minutes away in Kingston, NY. If Key Phoenicia shuts down, many Key customers will likely stop banking with Key.
We implore Key to keep the Phoenicia branch open. It's our custom to bounce back from calamity. Please help us be true to our name and rise, like the phoenix, from this latest setback.
