Pensions are under attack all over the country both public and private. Retirees have worked 25 or more years with the promise of a pension and health care benefits. Detroit has become the poster child for a vicious attack on pensions. It is important that retirees all over the country stand up, fight and defend their right to the pension and benefits that they earned. The Retired Detroit Police Members Association (RDPMA) are asking that retirees everywhere support "National Retiree Day" on October 23, 2013 by marching and rallying in their city with signs of protest against cuts in pensions and benefits; at their city hall or court in solidarity to Detroit retired city workers. Join us in this fight as it may come to your city soon. Unfunded pensions have been reported in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Portland, Oregon and Providence , Rhode Island. Visit our website at www.rdpma.org to join and donate to this fight.
