We, the concerned tribal members and citizens of Oklahoma are petitioning for the swift investigation into this states Native American Boarding Schools/Mission Schools. Late May 2021, the unnecessary death and inhuman disposed bodies of 215 innocent Indigenous children were found buried at a Canadian Boarding School. Since this discovery, there have been THOUSANDS more discovered and countless more yet to be found.

Between the 1860's and 1978, Thousands of Indigenous children were forcefully removed from their families, their homes, their lives, their people in order to "Kill the Indian and save the man." These children were shipped across the country to the unknown, only to suffer horrible abuse and neglect, leading to many of their deaths. The parents, families and tribes never told of the truth of "care" provided or even the actual cause of death and in some cases told their child ran away, never to be found or heard from again.

Oklahoma had at least 78, if not more, such Boarding schools during this time. The most of all the U.S. states. Many of us here today are descendants of the survivors who are seeking justice and acknowledgement of our history. Therefore, we are urging the State of Oklahoma and the Department of Interior to investigate and search the grounds of each school immediately so families can have their answers and their children brought home for proper burial.
