Diane Glass started this petition to Jess Phillips MP (Member of Parliament) and

Some MPs in Parliament and the government have lied to the public to influence voters e.g £350 million for the NHS leading voters to believe that we would have more money for essential services, we would have multiple international trade deals in place leading voters to believe that we would be financially better off. They make promises in their manifestos that are never fulfilled, again to influence voters.

To ensure that voters can make informed decisions, lies need to be called out as lies and consequences for the liars. Either the sack or if it has negative consequences which causes an individual to be impacted i.e. their health and welfare, or if the lie was deliberate, perjury charge to influence an election knowingly. Also if a promise is made in a manifesto and that party is voted to govern that they have a legal obligation to fulfil those promises in the first term or go to court to claim exemption.

This will mean we have the truth to base our decisions as voters and more power to hold the government and Parliament to account if they choose to deliberately mislead voters for their own objectives.

They are paid to serve the public not the public serve them.
