Modifying the Kettering City Schools dress code
The Kettering City Schools dress code is out dated. Society has changed and with that we need to grow. As someone who has gone to Kettering schools since I was in kindergarten they have definitely made improvements such as shorts not having to be finger tip length and being allowed to show our shoulders but I, and many of my peers believe that more change needs to happen. We are young adults and we should not be sexualized for wearing everyday things. Body parts such as backs and stomachs are not sex organs and are NOT distracting. The dress code is misogynistic and unfair to the girls within the district. No one is saying we want to not be covered. But the only people being distracted it seems are male teachers and this makes us girls feel uncomfortable.
