My son Shujaa was diagnosed with cancer in March 2018.He needed a bone marrow transplant that is not offered in Kenya, he had to go to India. It is the situation of many kenyans, who travel abroad for treatment due to our inability to do certain procedures, better expertise abroad and cheaper cost of treatment. Shujaa lost his life, and it happens to 7 out of 10 patients with cancer. It has to be declared a National disaster in Kenya for us to focus on better ways and invest in preventing ,diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of warriors and survivors.
