I am requesting as much time as needed for custody hearings to prove people can rise above a rough past. Also, I am requesting we get a court appointed attorney and at least as much time as a murderer gets to try and prove their innocence.

My daughter Cassandra Owens was murdered on March 6, 2013. Cassie's daughter and my grand daughter Madison was placed in permanent custody of the parents of the man who murdered my daughter because of my rough past which I have overcome. The court doesn't allow me to call my grand daughter and we only get one hour every other Friday, supervised visits. The hearings for custody which should have taken months were held within weeks after my daughter was murdered. I have offered the courts 5 voluntary hair follicle drug tests proving I am drug free, I am a junior at Morehead State University for Social Work. I had one major hearing to try and prove why my grand daughter and I deserve to be together and they had the man who murdered my daughter sitting in the courtroom the whole two hours. This is a very long story of injustice and I feel it is important for people like me to get a fair hearing ,with as much time as needed , to present all witnesses and evidence that can prove the changes made for the better. I feel we should get a court appointed attorney if we financially qualify. The man who murdered my daughter had a court appointed attorney.
