Multiple Montgomery County High School students have recently been punished due to posts on social media. Two female students were given ASP because they voiced their opinions on the "safety," or lack thereof, in their school district. These students posed no threat to the schools or in any way hurt another person. Other students, however, have made posts along the same lines and never been reprimanded for them. We, as a student body, would like to see a change in not only the safety of our school, but also a change in the school's discipline. MCHS should no longer pick and choose which students have to face consequences for nearly the same actions. Please sign this petition if you feel that students everywhere should be allowed to voice their opinion, regardless if it is on social media or not. After all, it is permitted in the first amendment. Thank you.
