Appoint Simon Carey to Kent Town Board

Appoint Simon Carey to Kent Town Board
A vacancy on the Town Board was created when former Councilwoman Jaime McGlasson became the Town Supervisor. The four members of the Town Board may select an individual to fill the vacancy through the end of the year.
Simon Carey was the next biggest vote getter for Town Board in the 2021 election. Simon is smart, dedicated to the Town and would be an asset to the Town Board and the Town at large. One of the biggest issues facing our Town currently is the mining moratorium and the changes to the Town Code regarding mining. Simon is a surveyor by trade and a member of the Planning Board. His knowledge, experience and expertise make him best suited to fill the empty spot and help move the Board forward.
We, the undersigned, therefore respectfully request that the Town Board of the Town of Kent appoint Simon Carey to fill the vacancy on the Kent Town Board at their next scheduled meeting on January 18, 2022.
